This time around I wanted to draw a beautiful female, and I could think of no one more beautiful than my wife (double brownie points)! But this was also one of the the greatest challenges because I wanted to get it just right.

Fellas pay particular attention to the bottom right of the illustration and note the wedding ring. View it and weep !

It’s funny, several times when I was drawing I would go to hit Ctrl Z to undo a step. When this happens you know you’ve been using Photoshop too long. Ha! But of course this didn’t work because there was no Photoshop involved in the making of this illustration.

For me, there’s really nothing like creating something– drawing something from nothing. One of my favorite quotes is from Picasso when he said,

“To draw, you must close your eyes and sing.”

Admittedly, there was not a lot of eye closing during this drawing. But to envision the end result, and then make that vision come to be, is art. Let me know what you think of my art in the comments below!
